Situated in Torre Pali, a marina in the municipality of Salve, just a few metres from the splendid Salento sea and very close to the most renowned beaches in Salento and the characteristic and evocative Santa Maria di Leuca, we find Casallende. The house, located on the ground floor, has a veranda on the outside with a cover for relaxing moments. The veranda leads into the living room complete with fully equipped kitchen. A corridor separates the living area from the two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds, and the bathroom complete with shower and bidet. The accommodation is equipped with every comfort; such as free wi-fi, air conditioning and free public parking nearby.
Torre Pali is a historic coastal tower built in the 16th century at the behest of Charles V. The tower was part of a defensive system against raids by Saracen pirates. Today, only the base remains visible, surrounded by the sea about 15 metres from the coast due to coastal erosion. In addition to its defensive function, the tower served as a point of sighting and communication with neighbouring towers, such as Torre Vado and Torre Mozza, through visual and acoustic signals. Today, Torre Pali is a symbol of the locality and a point of interest for residents and visitors alike, representing an important historical and cultural testimony of Salento. Its municipality is Salve, in the province of Lecce. The historical centre preserves important architectural and religious testimonies, including the Mother Church of San Nicola Magno, built between the 16th and 17th centuries, and several historical residences. It is characterised by narrow streets, Lecce stone houses and ancient noble palaces. Don't miss the Chiesa Madre di San Nicola Magno, with its 18th-century pipe organ. Particularly worth a visit are the Frantoi ipogei; ancient underground oil mills used in the past for the production of olive oil, which can be visited at certain times of the year, and Dolmen 'Argentina', an archaeological site dating back to the Bronze Age, located in the 'Masseria del Fano' locality, evidence of the ancient prehistoric civilisations of Salento. Nearby seaside resorts include Pescoluse Beach (known as the 'Maldives of Salento'), one of the most famous beaches in Salento, with fine white sand, natural dunes and turquoise waters. Another place to visit nearby is Santa Maria di Leuca, just 15 km away, the extreme tip of the Salento peninsula and meeting point of the Ionian and Adriatic Seas.
